The Living Building Leader program provides education to the design and construction industry in preparation to design and achieve Living Building status as defined by the International Living Building Institute. Living Building Leader credentials are available to architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, green consultants and contractors based on their comprehensive knowledge and leadership in the “petals” of the International Living Building Institute’s Living Building Challenge. The program also provides tools and technical training necessary to pursue Living Building status.
The logo concept for Living Building Leader takes the idea of a singularly focused dialogue and expands the basis of leadership to include not one, but the seven key Living Building areas of expertise (represented by the seven prerequisites within the program of site, water, energy, materials, indoor quality, beauty + inspiration and design process + leadership). The result is a flower-like seal symbolizing integrated dialogue and reinforcing the flower metaphor used within the Living Building Challenge.
